Disabled British Man Dies in Pattaya Condo

Pattaya Police and a unit of the Sawang Boriboon Recue Foundation were called to attend to the death of a foreigner that had been reported by staff at a condominium in Central Pattaya.

At the scene a condo on the 15th floor of the View Talay 6 Condominium which is located between second road and beach road next to Central Festival Shopping Mall they found the body of Mr. Alan John, aged 66 a British national. Mr. John is disabled and they found him and his overturned wheelchair in the bathroom of the condo.

Mr. John who lived alone had not been seen for a few days and it was not until a maid was going to clean a room near his condo that she smelt a foul odour coming from Mr. John's condo and called in a condo technician who gained entry with a pass key.

Police and forensic experts examined the condo, the bathroom and the body of Mr. John but could find no evidence of injuries or a struggle to indicate that any one else was involved in his death. He had been dead for about 4 days. At present the theory is that Mr. John went to the bathroom and fell whilst getting out of his wheelchair.

The body of the deceased has been sent to hospital for a full forensic post mortem to be carried out and the British Embassy as is the custom have been informed of the death of one of it's nationals.
