Swiss Man Dies While Exercising in East Pattaya

Nongprue Police and a unit of the Sawang Boribool Rescue Foundation were called out to provide assistance to a foreign tourist who had collapsed whilst exercising near the sports stadium at soi Pornpapanimitr.

At the scene they found a 65-year -old Swiss man Mr. Hohl Vinzenz unfortunately there was little they could for him. They tried CPU but could not get him to breathe.

Mr. Vinzenz was dressed in sports gear and near the body was a snakeboard, similar to a skateboard that he was using to exercise with. He had sustained minor wounds but these were consistent with a minor fall probably from his snakeboard and appears to have been dead for less than an hour.

A local Lady Khun Somboon aged 53 said that Mr. Vinzenz was staying in a room that he had rented in her house. He had been staying there for about a month as he was on a long holiday in Pattaya after recently retiring from his job in Switzerland and would often go out in the evening to exercise on his snakeboard nearby.

She had been driving past the scene when she spotted Mr. Vinzenz laying on the ground and when she stopped to check and found him not breathing she had called for assistance.

The Police took into custody his passport and a large amount of Swiss Francs.

His body was transported to hospital for a full forensic post mortem to be carried out. As is the custom the Swiss Embassy in Bangkok has been notified of the death of one of it's nationals.
