At the scene at a traffic island outside Wat Chonglong Naklua they found a Nissan Navara pick-up truck embedded in road signs.
A witness had seen the vehicle going through a traffic light and then it seemed to lose control maybe due to a slippery road suface after a recent rain shower.
The driver of the vehicle Khun Pongsak aged 29 was trapped in his seat and it took rescue workers using the jaws of life some time to open up the cab and get him out of the vehicle. He was given first aid at the scene and then transported to Banglamung Hospital for emergency treatment
