Armed Robbery at Chonburi Gold Shop

A gang of ruthless armed robbers struck a gold shop in Baan Bung District of Chonburi. Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene as soon as reports of the raid came in.

At the scene they foun  Khun Paiboon the 50 year old owner of the gold shop. He had been shot in the head with a .38 calibre weapon. He was still clinging to life and rushed to hospital for emergency treatment for his life threatening gunshot wound.

Khun Wanpen the 35 year old wife of Khun Paiboon was also at the scene and was not injured but clearly in a distressed state. A well as another lady Khun Natthaya aged 21 who was shocked to have seen such a dramatic event.

Three young men wearing helmets to hide their identities and wearing black jackets had arrive on a Honda Wave Motorcycle. They entered the gold shop shot the owner and using an axe and firing their weapons they shattered the glass of the showcases and then made their escape with what is believed to be over 100 Baht in Gold chains with a value of some 2 million Baht.

Six shots were fired in the robbery. The police collected evidence including shell casings and CCTV images meanwhile an alert went out over the police radio but as yet the dangerous armed robbers are still at large.
