Michael Jackson Moonwalks to Walking Street Pattaya

At one time reports of Michael Jackson performing in Pattaya would have brought in thousands of adoring fans from all over the world as well as units of the women and child protection unit.

But this performance was as is the norm for Pattaya a real performance from a fake look alike Michael Jackson. Billed as Michael Jacksonthorn Moonwalks to Walking Street Pattaya's Ripley's Believe it or Not sponsored the Moonwalk by Khun Niwat Odthon a Pattaya resident aged 16 who probably can't even remember Michael Jackson looking alive or as in his later years remotely alive.

Khun Niwat or Michael Jacksonthorn as he likes to be known did his Moonwalk Shuffle From Central Festival Pattaya Beach and moon walked to Walking Street's King's Seafood Restaurant where he was joined by hundreds of crabs and lobsters doing their own final moon walking Michael Jackson impressions.

So Believe it or not Khun Michael Jacksonthorn to the delight of hundreds of tourists set a new world's record for the moonwalk with a distance a little over 1Km and received a well earned certificate from the manager of Ripley's Believe It or Not .

Weapons dumped by Motorcyclist Fleeing Pattaya Police Checkpoint

It is common to see police checkpoints on the roads around Pattaya especially at night. It is a traditional ritual that was instigated to net travellers who had imbibed a little more alcohol than was deemed wise for public safety and also a cash raising exercise with fines proffered or contributions for the purchase of tea for traffic infringements.

Nowadays drugs are a matter of some concern and motorists and motorcyclists can reasonably be required to discharge a little yellowy liquid into plastic bottles as well as blowing into an  alcohol testing machine.

Also of major concern are firearms. Drugs and dangerous weapons are the mainstay for the Thai Underworld.

A traffic checkpoint just north of Pattaya at Moo 7, Tambon Ban Bo Thong District was on the alert for all of the above. A motorcyclist riding his motorcycle as motorcyclists are known to do spotted the police checkpoint and decided that it may not be wise to proceed. He turned around attempting to return to whence he had come at a high rate of speed and tossed a bag he was carrying into trees at the side of the road.

Officers headed for the bag and made a quick assessment due to the weight that the bag was a little to heavy to be containing a few grammes of whacky backy and duly called in the bomb squad.

On investigation, a suitably clad officer discovered the bag contained a hand grenade and an M67 machine gun. So guys the moral of the story is when out on the town at night in or around Pattaya leave your grenades and automatic weapons tucked up at home.

Kidnapped Pattaya Lady Rescued from Buriram

A bizarre kidnapping case was resolved this week when a lady who was whisked away from a bar in Pattaya without her bar fine being paid and imprisoned by a loan shark gang at an up-country location was rescued and released by a joint police and military operation.

Khun Yupin had made the mistake of borrowing 70,000 Baht from the loan sharks. This mistake was then compounded by not keeping up the re-payments and extortionate compound interest.

So the gang kidnapped her from the bar she was working at and attempted to extort money from her family who demanded the loan repaid and an extra 300,000 Baht for their trouble.

The victim's family went straight to Pattaya Police Station and immediately brought a swift response from the boys in brown who were deeply concerned for her safety.

Within 24 hours of the abduction The police had identified the location where the lady was being held in Buriram Province and a joint Thai Army Thai Police task force dispatched to secure release. Several arrests were made and charges made pending further investigations for kidnapping, false imprisonment and extortion. Including Khun Tanaporn she confessed that she and Mr Anuchaa had kidnapped Khun Yupin and their son Khun Chang who was waiting in Bangkok to receive the ransom payment.

Mike Shopping Mall Pattaya Targeted for Fake Goods

Let's face it Pattaya is famous for two things - real ladies in the bars around town and cheap fake shirts and watches that we all have at some time  stuffed into fake brand name suitcases to take home to finance the next trip to visit the real women in the bars around Pattaya.

So in this time of post martial law in Thailand it is a little disappointing and more than a little surprising that both these institutions cheap loving and cheap buying are being targeted. Like shooting yourself in both feet accidentally at the same time. The word was out that Mike was this weeks target. So I made myself scarce until I realised it wasn't me that the big brass were after it was Mike Shopping Mall and Mike Department Store.

Raids were organised by The Police Region 2 Special Investigations Unit and Pattaya Police and armed with their own shopping bags officers descended on the two Mikes.

Fake brand clothing, fake brand shoes, belts, handbags, hats and sunglasses, over 3,100 pieces of counterfeit fashion clothing and accessories worth over 2.5 million baht found it's way out of the stores without going through checkout. 21 shop assistants will however be checked out at the police station and no doubt fined and berated for simply doing their job.

Tourists and members of the public can now breathe a little easier that they won't be tricked into spending their tourist dollars on cheap designer label stuff - well at least for this week. And of course Mike can crawl out of his condo and do some real shopping for some real women in The bars around Pattaya.

Chonburi Furniture Factory Raided For Illegal Timber

A case of the authorities in Phanatnikhom, Chonburi not being able to see the wood for the trees.

Enforcement officials from the Office of Forest Resource Management in Chonburi had received intelligence from concerned Thai citizens - I know that is an Oxymoron that a factory processing wood furniture located at 172 Moo 10, Tambon Wang Muang was in possession of illegal timber species including illegally obtained rose wood and sandal wood smuggled from Laos.

The Chonburi Branch of The Office of Forest Resource Management obtained a search warrant for the wood processing plant. They searched the piles of wood soon to become furniture mainly destined for places like Israel and what they saw was piles of sawn timber but not a splinter of alleged illegally obtained timber.

The owner had in his possession the legal permits to operate. Nonetheless the officials seized over a million Baht worth of the precious furniture raw materials in the hope that the owners may or may not have the correct permits that would definitely show the origin of the species.

Germans in Pattaya Help Local Poor Families

Naklua in North Pattaya has for a long time been a popular haunt for tourists who have a typically Germanic heritage. Sauerkraut, schnitzels and iced beer are consumed enthusiastically by moustached gentleman wearing lederhosen and singing enthusiastically to oompha oopha bands.

What is not known is that these ledherhosen clad lads often take time from their bar stools to contribute to the community in which they live and enjoy their vacations. The German Association of Naklua and their neighbours the Swiss Golf Club got together to provide assistance to the low income families of the area.

In collaboration with officers from city council District 3 the donating Deuchlanders donated bags of rice, dried food and confectionery.

Representatives of the families who received the generous gifts came along to say a very vocal danke shoen mien hairy ones.

A 15 inch kitchen knife was also at the scene.

The body had been found by her cousin Khun Malidar aged 46. A niece of the deceased Khun Arita aged 30 explained that her Aunt had recently been released from the Srithanya Hospital in Bangkok, which specialises in dealing with mental health patients and was due to go back as an out patient.

She had suffered from mental health problems for a long time and despite being released from hospital she was suicidal and still mentally unstable and would suffer from sudden and unexplained mood swings.

A post mortem will be carried out before the body is released back to the family for funeral rites to be carried out.

The racing motorcycle burst into flames.

The 15 year old driver of the motorcycle was laying dead in the road a few meters from the now burning motorcycle. Close to him was the body of one of his 15 year old passengers and the badly injured second passenger also aged 15

The 32 year old driver of the second motorcycle sustained only minor injuries as dis another young man who were treated by medics at the scene.

The parents of one of the deceased boys had arrived at the scene on hearing about the accident. They will have to wait however for their son's body to be released to them as the bodies of the victims were transported to Banglamung Hospital for a post mortem to be carried out.

Chonburi Animal Clinic Cleaner Caught Robbing Cash Register

The owner of a veterinary clinic in Chonburi was puzzled that money was disappearing from the cash register on a frequent basis. He was pretty certain that none of his patients were responsible and suspected some member of staff had sticky paws.

He set up a CCTV camera pointed towards the till and sat to monitor the comings and goings in the area around the cash register. He didn't have to wait long. a cleaner employed at The Animal House Veterinary Hospital Khun Kobchai aged 28 using a pair of scissors prised open the cash drawer and removed 15,000 Baht.

The owner rushed downstairs but Khun Kobchai did a runner pursued by the clinic owner. Local citizens helped to capture and detain the thief until police arrived.

Khun Kobchai from Samut Songkram Province said that he had been arrested previously for carrying an illegal firearm and at this time he was under great pressure from his family as his wife was paralysed and his 2 year old daughter was suffering from Asthma and needed more money. He admitted that he had stolen money from his employers on at least 5 occasions.

North Pattaya Counterfeit Goods Warehouse Raided

A press conference was held at Banglamung Police Station where Police Major General Sanit the Acting Region 2 Police Commissioner announced the results of a search and seize operation  which took place at a warehouse in North Pattaya suspected of being a storage and distribution facility for counterfeit goods.

The raid was carried out with a search warrant issued by Pattaya Provincial Court. At the time of the raid the warehouse was not occupied so no one was arrested. However as was thought the warehouse contained a huge quantity of fake and counterfeited merchandise destined for the streets of Pattaya.

Seized in the raid were: A total of 1,042 counterfeit branded items with an estimated retail value of 800,000 Baht. There were many Counterfeit Samsung Mobile Phone Covers as well as goods with Brands such as Adidas and Camel.

Tourists visiting Pattaya can now breathe a sigh of relief that they won't be tempted with fake brand name souvenirs and will be happy to pay thousands of Baht more for the real thing.

Drugs, Firearms Seized in Pattaya

Pattaya Police Colonel Supachai held a press conference to announce the results of a crime suppression operation that netted a haul of drug dealers, illegal drugs and weapons and ammunition.

Drug dealers deal in a lethal trade of narcotics. Drug addicts consume these lethal products. Add in the increasing preponderance of illegal weapons and the situation becomes lethal not only for the drug dealers and addicts but also for members of the public - locals and foreign tourists who may get caught in the crossfire when drug deals go wrong.

In addition these drug deals and drug purchases need to be financed and again innocent local citizens and tourists are an easy cash cow that are on tap 24/7

After the imposition of martial law citizens were offered an amnesty to hand over their weapons. The amnesty has now ended and Police are now acting proactively and mopping up the criminals and the weapons that they have in their possession.

Khun Akhom was laying in a pool of blood and appeared to have suffered a broken neck in the accident.

Pattaya Boy Racers Nabbed

Police forces all around the Eastern Seaboard region have received instructions to crack down on all instances of criminal and anti-social behaviour. After receiving information of a forthcoming gathering of motorcycle racers in Pattaya. Banglamung police planned and conducted an operation to wave the chequered flag at them before they got chance to get to the finishing line.

At the scene of the on road racetrack the motorcycle madness maniacs assembled to face off for the title of the fastest moped rider in the land. The police had other ideas.

Of course the group of high power moped muppets were well equipped to get a fast getaway but with around 100 boy racers assembled it was inevitable that more than a few were in store for an early pit stop.

The police managed to snag 10 motorcycles and 18 youths who were just a tad slow off the mark. Their machines were impounded and the disgruntled youths hauled off for mandatory drug and brain cell testing.

Chonburi Drug Dealers Arrested

Two Groups of Pattaya Students Face off with Stakes and Knives

There is an ongoing competition between schools in Pattaya as to which school is best, who has the best teachers and who has the most studious students.

Pattaya Police had got wind that two groups of students one from Potisampan School in Naklua and one group from Pattaya School Number 5 on the Sukhumvit Road in Central Pattaya had gathered out of school hours to have a friendly discussion as to which school was best.

To press the point they had brought along an array of wooden stakes and knives.

Unfortunately or fortunately they hadn't brought around much in the way of courage and as soon as they spotted a group of boys in brown the boys in school uniforms did a swift runner.

16 boys were not so fleet of foot and with a little help from a group of nearby motorcycle taxi drivers the would be warriors were as they say bang to rights. Most were released later except for one who found it difficult to hide the long knife down his short trousers.

Drug Starved Couple Try to Sell Gun on Facebook to Pattaya Police Officer

A not too bright 18 year old Pattaya girl and her also brain cell deprived 19 year old boyfriend were looking to make a few bob to buy some drugs as many young men and women are akin to do here in Pattaya. So the girl pinched a gun off her father - where to sell it? -well Facebook of course.

Pattaya Police officers also have Facebook accounts in fact I have no doubt that some lucky officers are paid to surf the net rather than surf the miscreants on Beach Road. Officers interests were sparked recently with a novel for dale item after all a Glock 9mm at a bargain price is not to be ignored.

A meet was arranged and at the appropriate time the pair turned up at the junction of Khao Talo and Soi Khao Noi in East Pattaya to say hello to their new Facebook Friend.

As they drew up the pair sensed that their browsing days may well be over and tried to make a getaway on their Honda Spacey. But the spaced out pair were about to be unfriended as The waiting police officers were just as good at riding motorcycles as they were at surfing the Internet. The Love struck, drug starved mugs were soon in custody and the 9mm Glock found hidden under the seat along with a holster and 6 rounds of ammunition - a complete package for sale from a couple of complete fools.

As officers discussed the days events with the couple the girl confessed to trying to sell the gun which she had half inched from her father.

Her father a Village Chief from Kanchanaburi Province who formally served as a Democratic Party Member of Parliament will no doubt be pleased to have his gun returned and equally pleased that his long lost daughter Khun Sunisar and her boyfriend, Khun Jackapan are alive and well and currently living in a comfortable lodgings in the beautiful city of Pattaya called jail cells.

Pattaya Traffic Regulations Crackdown

Pattaya Police have announced a crackdown on traffic violators in Pattaya. Their aim is to stop people parking illegally and clogging up the roads of Pattaya causing congestion and traffic jams. A little strange as this low season is way low and traffic jams are a rare occurrence.

Pattaya Pol. Col. Supathee told his officers to be vigilant for offenders who were parked or double parked in the new well painted and well signed bus taxi drop of zones.

They should check that taxis and motorcycle taxis were properly registered. Motorcycle taxis should always wear helmets and their passengers for safety reasons provided with helmets.

One of the weirdest tasks was that officers would have to make sure that the taxi meter regulations were being adhered to. The Chonburi Tranportation Department had laid down a standard taxi meter fare of 25 Baht for the first two Km and then 5 Baht per Km after that. Obviously no one has informed the authorities that Pattaya Taxi Meter Taxis have meters but they still have their protective plastic wrappers on them from when they were first installed and obviously they had never received instructions as to how to use them.

Former Thai Boxer Suicide in Nongprue East Pattaya

Nongprue Police in East Pattaya were called to attend and investigate an apparant suicide at Moo Baan Seangsupha in Nongprue District.

At the scene they found a crowd of friends, neighbours and onlookers congregated to gawp outside a two storey shophouse. Inside they found the deceased Khun Tiengchai aged 26 who had hung himself from a metal grille over a window in an upstairs bedroom. He appeared to have died about 1 or 2 hours before his body was discovered. There was no signs of a struggle or any indications of foul play in the room and at this stage pending a post mortem examination police have ruled this a suicide.

In the room was a smashed piggy bank with a few coins strewn about along with some empty whisky bottles. Khun Tiengchai was a former professional boxer and the owner of a beer bar in Central Pattaya. Friends told police that Khun Tiengchai was in a depressed state as he was losing money heavily on his bar business and was gutted that a few days ago he didn't have enough money to buy his son a birthday present.

Another friend said that he was normally a happy guy and they had spent some time drinking and watching football on TV and she was very surprised that he had decided to take his own life.

Firearms Raid in East Pattaya

After the imposition of martial law a few weeks ago the authorities made it inordinately clear that citizens must give up their stashes of weapons, ammunition and explosives that they keep hanging around their homes. Now the period of amnesty for the handing over of these weapons is over and the police are becoming pro active in the search and seizure of such items from citizens who did not comply to the orders.

Chonburi Superintendent Police Colonel Sudhisak along with a team of police officers from Nongprue Police Station made a raid on a premises in East Pattaya where they had information a large number of weapons and a large quantity of ammunition were being stored.

After obtaining a search warrant from Pattaya Provincial Court the officers converged on the house of a Khun Phornthep  a 51 year old Pattaya Civil Defense Volunteer. Seized in the raid were a number of unregistered hand guns and pump action shot guns along with .38mm, 9mm, .22mm ammunition and shot gun shells. They also took for evidence a number of two way radios that appeared to be un-licenced.

Khun Pongtaerp has been arrested and charged with multiple firearms offences and will be detained on-remand pending an appearance at Pattaya Provincial court.

Sattahip Gold Necklace Snatch

Sattahip police rushed to investigate a snatch and grab incident in their area where a retired military officer had had his pride and joy gold necklace grabbed by two punks on a motorcycle. At the scene at Soi Sattahip Sukhumwit 81 they met with Khun Rungsak Arunpruek aged 61.

He told the officers that he was stood at a roadside fruit stall buying some durian when two suspicious characters wearing all black outfits and sporting full face helmets rode by on a motorcycle. Shortly after they returned and the pillion passenger attempted to grab his 4 Baht gold necklace. At first he failed but then he got off the bike and this time managed to get his grubby hands on the necklace.

Khun Rungsak was not going to give it up that easily and hung on to the necklace for dear life. It broke and the robber made off with only half of it before jumping on the motorcycle and being whisked away by his accomplice.

Khun Rungsak was heartbroken as all his life savings were tied up in this piece of jewelry. Police are aware that this type of crime is becoming more common and at this time thieves are getting more active as they are trying to raise funds to clear their World Cup gambling debts.

Police took the victims statement and are now looking at CCTV cameras in the area to see if they can glean any clues to the identifies of these highway robbers.

Pattaya Lady Boy Round Up on Pattaya Beach

As I travelled down Beach Road in a Songtheaw the other night on a purely journalistic fact finding mission to Walking Street I was struck by the beautification of the Beach Road Promenade. The only ugliness to be seen were the gangs of butt ugly ladyboys strutting their stuff. With fewer coconut trees at the coconut bar these days the lady boys may be able to run - if with a little difficulty in their high heels but they can't hide from the prying eyes and short arms of the Pattaya boys in brown.

Pattaya Police are forgoing their lengthy tea breaks and getting out there in the action. Another sweep this week along Pattaya Beach Road and Walking Street rounded up 100 undesirables, lady boys, drug addicts and general miscreants and marched off the short distance to the police station to have their vital statistics compared with statistics on the police computers.

Pol.Capt. Netithorn Rattanasuchanan at the station expressed his concerns and concerns from his superiors that these bisexual bandits and drug addicted bottom feeders are harming the squeaky clean image of the fine International family orientated resort of Pattaya where tourist related muggings and robberies are not a daily occurrence but more like an hourly event.

East Pattaya Loan Shark Beached

The top brass were called in after a top grass fingered a lady in East Pattaya who was alleged to be running an underground lottery and an illegal money lending business.

A raid was organised led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police Region 2 Police Lieutenant Colonel Chitdacha. A search warrant was obtained from the Pattaya Provincial Court and the band of officers moved in. The target premises a 3-story building opened as a shop selling rice and cooking gas in Soi Nernplubwan in East Pattaya. The target loan shark - Khun Wassana aged 51 alleged to be the mastermind behind the multi million Baht businesses.

Khun Wassana the alleged Loan Shark was Beached and confessed to being behind the operations that would charge borrowers 20% interest per month on the debts they owed.

In the raid officers seized as evidence Bank books, lottery tickets and books with repayment schedules as well as 400,000 Baht that was just hanging around with no place to go. Khun Wassana had somewhere to go. She was taken to Nongprue police station as investigations continue.

Jomtien Drains Construction

It is the rainy season in Pattaya again. It happens every year - it is called the monsoon season and is a totally natural event. Flooding is an inevitable consequence and is also totally natural but an efficient drainage system can mitigate the effects and give some relief for residents in the area.

Plans have been on the books for years and for years companies have been brought in to expand and improve the drains and sewers. Residents in Jomtien are getting a little tired though of having to endure the same problems year after year.

Dr. Virawat trade Deputy Mayor of Pattaya. Led a group of Pattaya city council members and staff of the Bureau of Sanitation Engineering District to inspect the progress of an updated drainage system where they laying 2-by-2-meter square underground pipes from Thepprasit Soi 7 to Wat Boonkanjanaram Soi 4

It is a complicated process which involves channels being dug and water being diverted while the new pipes are laid. The deputy Mayor urged the construction company to be diligent and complete this section as quickly as possible and also urged the residents to be as patient as possible as they face yet another messy monsoon season.

Car Fire in Phan Thong Chonburi

Firefighters from Phan Thong district responded speedily to reports of a vehicle on fire in their area. At the scene near the u-turn at Moo2 in Phan Thong they found a Ford truck well ablaze. It took about 30 minutes to douse the flames.

The driver Khun Wanna aged 55 who was driving home with her son had a lucky escape when she smelled smoke and immediately stopped the vehicle. She got herself and her son out just in time before It almost immediately burst into flames.

Thai Navy Joins Pattaya Police to Net Pattaya Ladyboys on Pattaya Beach

The boys in blue joined the boys in brown on a joint venture to go find the boys in skirts. Naval officers from Sattahip naval station who seem to have become a regular feature at Pattaya Police Station lately got together with their new buddies and shipped out to Beach Road. Senior officers have voiced concerns and issued orders that the ladyboy scum stalking tourists along beach road has got to end.

A tour hour sweep of the joint task force cast their lines and in 2 hours netted 40 high heeled highwaymen. They were marched of to Pattaya Police Station and their vital statistics checked with the vital statistics on the police computers.

Pattaya Welcomes The Navy - were the signs I used to see regularly when I first came to Pattaya 20 odd years ago. Now it is the Thai Navy not the US Navy that is patrolling the streets of Pattaya - how times have changed.

Pattaya Ladyboys Thieving Days are Numbered

Yet another snatch and grab by snatchless scumbag thieves has sparked yet another response by the fine gentlemen who reside at Pattaya Police Station.

The police are well aware who the culprits are a gang or even let's say gangs of thieving lady boy scum who hang around on Pattaya beach road and have a well used mode of operation find em, feel em, filch their wallets and gold chains and flee into the night.

In response to a foreigner complaint the cops went directly, not bothering to pass Go to Soi 12. Near the Royal Garden Plaza where they unceremoniously, and to a a cacophony of shrill high pitched protestations from the fake prostitutes lifted one of the ring leaders and hauled the stiletto clad scum off  back to the police station for a little question and answer session.

Are the days or nights of Pattaya Thieving Ladyboy Days Numbered. Maybe not but I do think the police are becoming a little more pro-active and I dare say a lot more productive.

Pattaya World Cup Gambling Cops

The World Cup is bringing out the big referees in Pattaya who are ready to blow the whistle and show the red card to anyone caught committing the serious crime of laying a few Bob or Baht on their favourite team.

Senior police officers from Chonburi Provincial Police Special Operations force backed up with some very smart gentlemen in very smart military uniforms announced that a special squad of gambling suppression officers had been sent to walk the sidelines at police stations across the region.

He added that this was the first team and not the reserve team and that they would definitely play offence against gamblers  who play foul of the law.

They would be discussing tactics in the locker room and then dispatched onto the field of play inspecting suspected gambling establishments, restaurants, and entertainment venues. So what are the odds that this clampdown will result in a jackpot for law enforcement. My bet is on the punters - whoops!!

Pattaya One Night Crime Spree

There seemed to be a tourist crime spree last week in Pattaya. No not tourists commiting crimes but tourists streaming into Pattaya Police Station to say that they had been robbed, burgled, pick pocketed or mugged. Four cases in thirty minutes. The boys in brown had to put down their mugs of tea and get down to work.

The first to come through the door was an Indian gentleman Mr. Jayesh Kumar Ambarambhai aged 48 He said that he was taking a stroll along Pattaya Beach near to the Tropicana Hotel when two Ladyboy’s approached him, gave him an affectionate hug and deftly lifted 900 US Dollars from his trouser pocket. before exiting stage left on a Honda Wave motorcycle.

A few minutes later an Iranian national Mr. Meisam Shirazi aged 34 from Iran entered the police station to report a crime. He too had been the victim of the bisexual bandits - not sure if it was the same band of bisexual bandits or a different set of ladyboy scum. Same MO fondle, free the valuables and flee. Goodbye 5 Baht gold necklace worth around 200,000 Baht

Pens were whizzing taking details on official police report forms when well pissed off Brit Mr. Ian Pickford aged 55 arrived to tell his sorry tale of being pick pocketed on a Baht bus. He had got on the bus with his wife during the journey from Soi 7 to the front of Soi 2 on Pattaya Second Road.a light fingered Thai fillie got on and squeezed in between them. She was good very good. It wasn't until he got back to his hotel that he realised that his wallet containing 24,000 Baht and 100 Pounds Sterling had now become the latest haul for the light fingered thieving Thai Tart.

The police were about to padlock the doors as it was becoming difficult to cope with the Tsunami of thefts when maybe a little late than the others probably due to his advanced age or the fact that he had travelled all the way from Theprasit Road in Jomtien to report that his safe had been opened and 2,900 Pounds Sterling had gone walkabout. He thought he knew who was the purp - a new cleaner who had worked at the hotel had cleaned him out and was probably by now half way to Nakhon Nowhere.

Foreigner Drowns on Jomtien Beach Pattaya

Pattaya Police from Dongtan sub-station and a unit of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to attend a section of the beach where the body of a foreigner had been found.

At the scene opposite the Grand Jomtien Palace Hotel they found the body of a deceased male foreigner laying face down in the sand. The deceased had no identification on him and police could only take a description that may help later to help in the identification process. He had black hair cropped short, around 180 cm tall and was  wearing a black top and black shorts.

The body who had been found by Khun Amnoi aged 70 who had arrived at the location at 4am as usual to work day as a deckchair operator. Whilst sweeping the beach he had noticed the man walking barefoot along the beach near his pog.

Police think that the man had entered the water near this location but their was no evidence to suggest that this could have been a suicide or an accidental drowning.

The body was transported to Banglamung hospital where a post mortem will be carried out. Meanwhile The police are making enquiries at hotels in the Jomtien area to see if they can identify him.

Police Volunteer Shoots and Pick-up Crashes Killing 2 Cambodian Workers

Police region 2 Commander - Pol.Maj.Gen.Sanit held a press conference to give further details of the shooting incident that led to a young girl being wounded and also led to the death of two Cambodian migrant workers who died when their pick-up truck overturned.

Police have now identified the two men who did the shooting as a Khun Sombat Darnin an ex-volunteer police officer and Khun Wanlop. The pair had seen a pick-up crash through a police checkpoint colliding with a police vehicle. The officers at the scene were not able to respond and they decided to give chase. Khun Sombat opened fire with his 9mm weapon trying to shoot out the vehicles tyres. He was unaware that a stray bullet had wounded a nearby 11 year girl who was shot in the elbow.

They gave up the chase as the pick-up left their area. The pick-up lost control and overturned a little while later killing two of it's 11 occupants. Statements from the survivors of the pick-up crash showed that they were fleeing the check point as they had heard that the police were cracking down on foreign workers and they were heading for the border.

The police volunteer has been charged with a range of firearms offences including possession of an illegal weapon and discharge of a weapon in a public place.

Live Shell Found Dumped in Naklua North Pattaya

Pattaya Police were called to check on a suspicious object in a suspicious fertilizer bag in North Pattaya. At the scene just off the side of the road on Moo 2 in Naklua and close to The Maryvit School.

Their suspicions got more suspect and a call was made to The Royal Thai Navy Bomb Disposal Unit they arrived and confirmed everyone's suspicions. It was a live if old 105mm anti-aircraft artillery projectile. The experts carefully removed the viable shell for appropriate disposal at a remote and safe destination.

The person who found the suspicious package Khun Anan aged 28 from Petchaburi Province said that he was out with his mother collecting recyclable garbage when he came across the fertiliser bag that had been dumped close to some other normal garbage bags.

Lucky day for Khun Anan and lucky for the kids at Maryvit school who can go about their lives a little safer today.

Fire at North Pattaya Construction Site

In the early hours of the morning Pattaya Firefighters and Pattaya Police officers rushed to respond to reports of a fire at a condominium complex in North Pattaya. The city's disaster relief authorities co-ordinated the response dispatching a large number of fire fighting and rescue vehicles.

At the scene The W-Tower Beach Womg-amart Condominium in North Pattaya they found a blaze in progress in a corridor on the ground floor. The 30 floor condo tower is under construction with no one living their yet. Security guards at the site who had smelt smoke while they were patrolling the site had already started to tackle the fire and once the experts arrived the blaze was soon doused.

Construction equipment had been destroyed but the damage to the building was not significant. Officials are now in the process of trying to determine the cause of the fire and suspect a cigarette butt discarded by construction workers or an electrical short circuit are the two most likely culprits. They would need to return during daylight to conduct a more intensive forensic enquiry.

Pattaya Beach Security Meeting

Khun Rankit Ekasing The Deputy Mayor of Pattaya along with Pattaya Police Colonel Supachai convened a meeting with officers and representative departments to discuss safety and security on Pattaya Beach. Security measures are already in place but they are deemed less than efficient and productive in keeping the 2.7 Km stretch of beach and it's environs safe for the millions of International visitors who visit Pattaya every year.

Proposals were put forward to increase the number of Pattaya municipal police volunteers and units of the Tappraya 2310 Foundation who regularly patrol the area.

Of particular concern are the constant risk of muggings and criminal behaviour mainly perpetrated by ladyboys in theevening and night time periods. Maybe they could also start with examining their own Pattaya municipal police volunteers who are mysteriously all too quick to attend the scene to mediate when tourists are fleeced of thousands of Baht from mysterious jetski damage incidents.

Pattaya City Hall English Language Training Meeting

Khun Wattana The Deputy Mayor of Pattaya presided over a meeting at Pattaya City Hall. The subject of the meeting was English language training for educational personnel in Pattaya. To prepare for Thailand's entry into The ASEAN Community.

Khun Jinda The Director of the Pattaya Department of Education outlined the purposes and aims of the project which purports to bring in experts to train teachers and educational professionals in the fine art of English language training.

The emphasis should be on Teaching activities, especially listening skills which should be the most effective to give the students the ability to communicate in the ASEAN community whose common language is English.

Expert native speakers were also invited to give their knowledge and expertise. So an emphasis on English Language listening skills will certainly help to train Thai youngsters and give them the necessary skills to listen, understand and nod frequently all across The ASEAN Region.

Next on the agenda I suggest should be to teach them the skills to speak English in a way that gives people a remote chance that they can be understood. OK I'm just dreaming.

Chonburi World Cup Betting Crackdown

Chonburi Provincial Police are banking on new methods in the fight against the heinous crime of gambling. The World cup has tempted Thai citizens to take chances and partake in a gambling frenzy that is gripping the nation.

Recent raids on gambling dens around the Chonburi area mostly related to The World cup has netted a haul of hundreds of thousands of Baht of stake money and a host of computer powered gambling machines. It is thought that punters who have lost their football shirts with these bare faced footie bookies have been blowing the whistle enabling the police to notch up the game and call foul on these match day mobsters.

The mobsters of course have not been too happy when shown the red card and escorted off the field and escorted to the nearest police station. Police are bringing on their subs and threatening to call the game off by confiscating the bookies possessions and premises. With the police on the offence and the bookies clearly playing defence What are the odds that this tactic is going to make a smidgen of a difference.

Pattaya Mobsters Make Off With Mobile Phone Machines

If it's not glued down, screwed down or bolted down Thai thieves will find a way to nick it. And if it is glued down, screwed down and bolted down they will just use brute force to take the whole damned thing.

A few months ago water dispensing machines were the prime targets with thieves walking away with pocket fulls of coins and leaving shop owners short changed and members of the public more than a little thirsty for revenge.

Now the thieves are dialled in to a new more lucrative target. Mobile phone top up machines. The thieves are staking out these machines usually orange in colour and striking in the dead of night to lift these Thai piggy banks off their foundations onto pick-up trucks and off to some deserted location where they force them open. After pocketing the contents - they must have large pockets - the gubbins of the machines are dumped often in  watery locations to destroy evidence.

2,000 Baht per machine is the average take from one of these machines - enough to buy the next few Yaa Baa tablets no doubt.

One such mobile mobster was recently nabbed and confessed to ripping off 10 mobile phone money makers. Police have called upon local citizens to be vigilant and to call in any suspicious activity that is of course if they have enough credit on their mobile device.

Cambodian Workers Killed, Others Injured in Shooting Which Caused Truck Crash

Police and rescue services converged on the scene of pure chaos in Baan Bo Thong district of Chonburi. A pick-up truck carrying Cambodian workers had overturned. One Cambodian man was found dead at the scene and 11 other workers were given first aid at the scene and then transported to hospital for further emergency treatment.

Also near the scene was an 11 year old girl who had sustained a gunshot wound to her elbow. She was also treated and transported to hospital. She said that she had seen the pick-up driving at high speed and being pursued by a  white car. Shots rang out from the white car and the pick-up lost control and overturned.

Witnesses from the victims in the pick-up confirmed this story. They said that they were on their way from Rayong Province to Sakeaw Province ready to return back to their homes in Cambodia. Occupants who they described as looking like policemen had tried to stop their vehicle but the driver refused to stop and sped off at high speed with the white car in pursuit. Shots were fired resulting in the crash and the 11 year old bystander being shot in the crossfire.

Police are continuing to take statements and have gathered evidence from the scene including a number of 9mm shell casings. They are also looking at CCTV film taken from a camera positioned outside a grocery store near the scene.

Man Slashes Wrists in Attempted Suicide in Bowin, Chonburi

Police officers from Bowin Police Station and rescue workers rushed to give assistance to help a man who was bleeding heavily after attempting to commit suicide by slashing his wrists.

At the scene they found a Khun Somchai aged 27 who was in a terrible state with blood gushing from wounds that he had inflicted on his arms with a kitchen knife. Medics were able to give first aid at the scene and stem the blood flow. He was then transported to hospital for further emergency treatment.

It appears that Khun Somchai's wife had left him after an argument and returned to her home in Buriram Province in The Northeast of Thailand. This had caused him much grief and he had attempted to take his own life by slashing his wrists with a sharp kitchen knife.

Italian Suicide Swim in Pattaya

Pattaya Police and a Unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to an incident where the body of a foreigner had been found washed up on the beach.

At the scene opposite soi 1 at the north end of Pattaya Beach near the Dusit Thani Resort they found a group of Thais and foreign tourists gathered around the body of 66 year old Mr. Antonio Lardo an Italian national. Mr. Lardo had a large gash to his forehead but appeared to have drowned and the gash was caused by the body washing up on sharp rocks along the shore.

A nearby motorcycle taxi driver Khun Nantawoot aged 26 said that he had observed the man over the previous 3 days. He had seen him laying in front of a nearby convenience store as though he was homeless. He appeared to be in a depressed state and he saw him walking up and down the beach during the day. He was also saw him in the same area about 3 hours prior to the discovery of the body on the Beach.

Further investigations revealed that Mr. Lardo may have been in financial difficulties, had no money to pay for his rent and daily needs. He was probably suffering from depression and with his birthday approaching he decided to take a final swim. The deceased was taken to hospital for a forensic post mortem to be carried out and as is the custom the Italian Embassy in Bangkok have been notified of the death of one of it's nationals.

Pattaya Go-Go Bars Raided

It may seem unbelievable but yes some people take offence at the sight of beautiful Thai ladies gyrating around chrome poles in their birthday suits. After receiving complaints that some Go-Go Bars on Walking Street were conducting naughty shows Banglamung District officials decided it was about time to put a stop to this practise that is surely an affront to the sensibilities of the throngs of tourists who flock to Pattaya each year to ostensibly take a look at naughty shows on Walking Street.

Scores of Pattaya Police officers Banglamung District Officers and over 40 Civil Defence Volunteers of Banglamung District descended en-masse on Walking street to get a breast of the situation. Several naughty establishments were visited but their main target was The Ginza a-go-go club which was to be the focus of their attention.

Obviously their sources were correct. The girls at The Ginza a-go-go club were in dire straights. Obviously they were not being paid enough and could not afford the ridiculously high price of bikinis and were forced - yes forced to dance naked or semi-naked. Officials were horrified - one could see that by the size of their eyes that were bulging out of their sockets. ID's were checked and it was found that 4 of the dancers were at an age when at this time of night they should have been tucked up in bed - alone of course.

They then proceeded to take the piss and some of the piss they took turned purple - 14 male and female employees who had consumed drugs were promptly arrested and after being allowed to put on some clothes - it was chilly outside the escorts were escorted to Pattaya Police Station for processing.

The managers of the establishments that were raided were also asked to accompany the officers charged with various offences including licencing or non licencing infractions. The lead officer commented that a good night was had by all - apart from the staff who were lined up for processing and he put on warning other entertainment venues who operate in the district that they had better clean up their acts and actresses.

He also warned entrepreneurs of every kind of entertainment venue that the hiring of under the aged staff is illegal and if there is any type of sexual service being offered its classed as human trafficking and the venue owners will be punished fully to the extent of the law.

Thailand Illegal Gambling on the World Cup

The World cup is captivating football fans all over Thailand as it is captivating folks all over the world apart from English fans who have been disheartened by their teams consistency in obtaining a consistent result in this prestigious tournament. Odds are the English team will be taking an early bath and an early flight back to Blighty.

Thai football fans are also placing their bets which is a severe problem as gambling is illegal in Thailand. Police officers in Chonburi had wind of many establishments such as Internet cafes that were acting as pseudo bookmakers where punters would come to watch matches and have more than an occasional flutter. Bangsean police faced with many reports decided to hedge their bets and focus on one establishment that seemed a dead cert.

The police raided the premises of 23 year old Khun Phisit resulting in him and 8 of his patrons losing their chance of freedom and they will now need to throw their hand in with a Thai judge.

It was a result for the police as 50,000 Baht was seized. What are the odds that The Police in Bangsean at least will not be short of a cup of tea at least until the next World Cup.

Koh Larn Island Pattaya Drug Addicts Round Up

Police Colonel Suppatree the new acting commander of Pattaya Police is starting to stamp his mark on the control of crime in the city of Pattaya. His aim to establish peace and security, confidence and a positive image to the eyes of both Thailand and foreign tourists on the island.

This week he ordered a raid on Koh Larn island - a popular tourist destination out in Pattaya Bay. His instructions - to look out for crime of any type particularly firearms crime and drugs crime.

A team of Pattaya Police Officers led by Pol. Capt. Netithorn set out for a day in the sun and wandered methodically about the island. The raid proved fruitful with 20 offenders, men and women, being rounded up for drug offences. All the suspects were brought back to Bali Hai pier in South Pattaya before they were taken to Pattaya police station in order to prosecute them.

Storm Dumps Crane at Leam Chabang Port

A miraculous escape for a crane operator working a huge container moving crane at Leam Chabang Port in Sriracha. A storm over Leam Chabang resulted in a strong gust of wind that latched on to his massive crane. As he was manoevering his huge machine the gust of wind lifted his crane weighing hundreds of tonnes and unceremoniously dumped it off the end of the pier into the harbour.

The crane operator with seconds to spare jumped into the water way below and survived with only minor injuries.

The crane and the cargo container it was transporting fared less well and ended up at the bottom of the harbour. No damage was reported to the multi million dollar wharf.

Port officials are now attempting to retrieve the cargo and the lost crane - using of course another crane. It is expected to take 2 to 3 days and cost 100 million Baht for the recovery operation. I hope they are careful to watch out for black clouds over Leam Chabang.

Ladyboy Roundup on Walking Street Pattaya

Pattaya Police and Pattaya Police Volunteers went on the hunt for Ladyboys this week. No they hadn't turned. They had been ordered by their superiors to hunt down the scum that were bringing the squeaky clean image of Pattaya City into question.

It is well known that these individuals who often hunt in packs are responsible for an inordinate amount of crime including doping robberies, non doping robberies and simple muggings and pickpocketing. As well as offering sexual services to tourists who may or more often may not know that they are bargaining with a bloke for the next bout of bedroom gymnastics.

A stroll down Walking Street in South Pattaya netted over 20 of the thieving scum who wear skirts to try to blend in with the local lasses. Being usually a head taller and a ton uglier than their pretty sisters they are not that hard to spot.

Back at Pattaya Police station the boys in brown processed the boys in dresses and of course found that it was just about the same crowd of reprobate transvestites that they had rounded up last week and the week before and last month and the month before.

Iraqi Burglars Caught in Jomtien Pattaya

The new Acting Commander of Pattaya Police Station Police Colonel Supatree held a press conference to announce the arrest of two Iraq Nationals, suspected of Burglary with claims that they were part of an International criminal gang who are committing similar crimes all over Thailand.

The two Iraqi's Mr. Haider Adel Twaiur aged 34 and Mr.Talal Tarik Alsadune aged 40 were captured commiting a burglary at the View Talay Holiday Resort on Jomtien Second Road.

Police had received a tip off and were laying in wait for the pair. At the scene one of the thieves was waiting in a car with the engine running ready to make an escape. The other emerged from the premises that he had ransacked and were promptly pounced on by a team of officers.

The raid had netted an Olympus Digital Camera, a Silver necklace, 2 Seiko Wrist Watches and a quantity of foreign currency. Also in his possession were a kit of burglary tools including screwdrivers, and a set of skeleton keys and locksmith's equipment that they claimed to have purchased in Australia for 40,000 Baht.

Under questioning by the police they would not admit to their crimes. The police however have information that leads them to believe that they are part of a transnational gang of thieves from Iraq, Algeria and Turkey who are known to have committed similar crimes at hotels, luxury condos and houses all over the Thailand.

Road Accident at Police Checkpoint on Sukhumvit Road Pattaya

An emergency vehicle from the Tappraya 2310 Rescue Foundation was called to give assistance to a female motorcyclist who had collided with a police checkpoint on the Sukhumvit Road.

The young lady Khun Phisupha was driving her Honda Wave motorcycle back home after work when she came across the police checkpoint and unexplained loss of control crashing into some comes and a "Police Stop" sign. She fell off her bike and the medics who arrived on scene treated her for a minor knee injury.

After treatment Khun Phisupha was asked to go with police officers to the police station to explain why she only stopped at the stop sign when she hit it and fell off. Not sure if they will ask for compensation to the damaged sign and crushed cone. Not a good day for Khun Phisupha for sure.

Pattaya Police Getting Tough on Pattaya Ladyboys

It seams that at long last Pattaya Police are losing their patience and are coming tough with the problem of Lady Boy scumbag gangs lurking around beach Road and Walking Street.

A gang of recidivist repeat offenders of Thai blokes dressed in skirts known as the "Bisexual Bandits" were spotted on Walking Street hanging around trying to blend in with the scenery. Bit difficult when you are a head and broad shoulders taller than the other other girls offering their wares. Or maybe it is the make-up liberally applied with a trowel that does nothing to mask the ugliness beneath.

After a series of pickpocketing thefts that have seen tourists losing thousands of dollars worth of cameras, mobile phones and gold necklaces the New management at Pattaya Police Station said enough is enough and escorted the 13 strong band of "Bisexual Bandits" to Pattaya Police Station to be booked and processed. The normal 100 Baht fine and turn them out on the street was not the order of the day and the "Bisexual Bandits" backgrounds and previous arrests will be taken into due consideration before their fate is decided.

Major Drugs Dealer arrested in Rayong Province

Police Major Surapon and other senior officers from Chonburi Police Region 2 held a press conference to announce the arrest of a major drugs dealer and the seizure of a significant amount of illegal drugs.

The dealer Khun Donuphong known to his friends and now known to the police as Mr. Oot was arrested in possession of 37,608 tablets of Yaa Baa (Methamphetamine tablets) at an address in Ban Chang District in Rayong Province.

The 32 year old confessed to the drugs possession and said that he was just a messenger boy and earned about 5,000 Baht for his delivery trips to other members of the drugs network. He didn't regret the job he was doing just the fact that on this occasion he regretted getting caught.

Looks like he won't be making any more deliveries for a long long time.

Thai Man Drowning on Jomtien Beach

Pattaya Police from Dongtan sub-station and a unit of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation rushed to assist after a man had been brought to the beach after a drowning incident just offshore.

Rescue workers on the beach from the Tappraya 2310 Foundation had been alerted to the drowning man by some kids who had been out in a boat, seen the man and rushed back to the beach.

At the scene opposite The Now Hotel on Jomtien beach they found a man thought to be a Thai national unconscious and not breathing. Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation volunteers stepped in and CPR was performed immediately before he was put in an ambulance and transported speedily to Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

At this time the man's identity is not known as he has not yet regained consciousness.

Serial Burlary in Central Pattaya

Pattaya Police were called in to investigate a burglary spree at The Grand View Condominiums in Central Pattaya. At the scene they went straight to the 9th floor where a Mrs Phimlapat was waiting at her room that had been ransacked. With her was her British husband who had passed out when he realised that they had been burgled and was laying out on the floor.

Mrs Phimlapat explained that they had just returned from a bar in Soi Buakhow where they had been out for the evening. All of her jewelry had been stolen including 40 diamond rings, diamond pendants, diamond earrings, numerous gold chains weighing about 25 baht The total value of the haul somewhere between 5 and 10 million Baht.

It seems that the next room had also been burgled as the door had been forced and then the burglar or burglars had gained entry by climbing over the balcony to the next room where the jewelry was taken.

A search also revealed that two other condos close by had been entered and ransacked. It is not clear what had been stolen from the other condo's as the owners had not returned home at that time. Police think that the culprit may be a resident at the condominium complex as it seems they had inside knowledge as to which condo's to target and how to gain entry. The police have taken fingerprints and are examining CCTV footage to see if they can identify the serial burglar.

Ladyboy Thieves Target Korean Tourist in Pattaya

Good news for Pattaya there is more crime committed by Thai scum males dressed as females - also known as LadyBoys. Why good news? well it seems that more are being caught in the act and face a longer arm of the law than is the norm with the boring, repetitive and seemingly unproductive sweeps of Beach Road and Walking Street.

Latest arrest happened after a 66 year old Korean tourist Mr Kim was walking back near Soi6 on Second Road to his room nearby when a motorcycle came past him with 2 lady boys on who stopped in front of him. One of the Ladyboys stayed on the motorcycle and the other hitched up his skirt and got off to approach Mr. Kim. Usual MO offering sexual services, quick fondle and then lift the tourist's wallet or mobile phone.

Mr. Kim was not the normal mark and grabbed the thieving cross dresser, a passer by grabbed the get away guy and a scuffle broke out. A passing police patrol was conveniently on hand and the thieving scumbags were soon in handcuffs.

Mr. Naroon Sukhom, aged 27 and Mr. Sonthaya Srijanplaeng, aged 27, confessed to the attempted theft. They said that they were a part of an extensive flock of thieving scum bags who target tourists. The pair had been nicked in their cross dressing nickers only a week ago for the same type of crime and bailed. This time they will be kept in custody whilst their fate is decided by a Thai judge.

Burmese Construction Worker Murdered in Jomtien Pattaya

Pattaya Police from the Dongtan sub-station on Jomtien Beach and a Unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were informed of a murder victim who had been discovered on some waste land off Jomtien Second Road.

At the scene near the Baan Fah Rim Haad Village off Jomtien Second Road they found the body of a Khun Jareon aged 37. Khun Jareon was a construction worker of Burmese Nationality who was working at a nearby hotel construction site. Khun Jareon was laying in a pool of blood after receiving numerous wounds to his head and body. There were broken bottles and lumps of concrete nearby with bloodstains on them that are thought to have been the weapons used to kill the man.

Inquiries revealed that Khun Jareon had been drinking with his friend Khun Wichit aged 42 nearby. They had run out of whisky and Khun Jaroen had agreed to go to a convenience store on Second Road to get more. To get to the shop he needed to go through the waste land that was used as a sports field for football, volleyball and Takraew.

A group of men had been seen playing volleyball on the sports field. It is thought that an altercation occurred. The men attacked the Burmese worker and killed him before fleeing the scene. The police are continuing their enquiries to find the killers and bring them to justice.

Fatal Crash in Leam Chabang Chonburi Caused by Drunken Driver Kills Three

Leam Chabang Police and rescue workers rushed to the scene of a serious road accident involving two pick-up trucks resulting in multiple casualties. At the scene they found a Toyota Vigo pick-up and a Mitsubishi Triton Pickup truck.

The driver of the Toyota Khun Sanan aged 61 had managed to get out of his cab but was now deceased. His passenger Khun Permsak was still in the vehicle and seriously injured. He had to be extracted from the wrecked pick-up truck and was suffering from serious blood loss. He was immediately transported to Leam Chabang Hospital but succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the crash and died in hospital a short time later. Another person, a lady aged 36 who was in the vehicle was also declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident Khun Chawarin aged 24 was initially a little luckier. He had only suffered a broken left arm in the crash. He was not so lucky when the police thought that they could smell alcohol on his breath and a subsequent breath test proved positive.

From the accident scene and witness statements it seems that the drunken driver had drifted across the road in front of the oncoming vehicle causing the accident and subsequently causing the death of it's driver and passengers.

Lucifer's Nightclub Walking Street Fight and Raid

A fight in Lucifer's Nightclub on Walking Street in South Pattaya hit the headlines this week as a video of the incident was replayed repeatedly on Thai TV as well as being a popular planetary Punch and Judy show on You Tube.

Two Israeli Brothers, Mr. Eli Aurheem aged 31 and Mr. Dekel Aurheem aged 27 went to Lucifer’s Discotheque on Walking Street to take in the sights and sounds. They did not feel like buying a drink as is the norm in these establishments. Unfortunately Freelancers and Freeloaders don't mix well on Walking Street.

Eli was asked to leave by one of the bouncers. Fisticuffs ensued with other bouncers and Eli's brother Dekel joined in. Unfortunately Dekel couldn't Dek-Em and the pair were trounced by the muay Thai trained Thai toughies. The tourist police arrived and the altercationists were taken to Pattaya Police Station for a chat.

Resulting from this incident Eli was fined 500 Baht and in the red corner Khun Wittaya the bouncer who put the first points on the referee's scorecard was charged with assault.

Police Colonel Supatree, the new Acting Chief of Pattaya Police had to put a foot in the ring and ordered a raid to be carried out on this popular late night venue where expensive beers are consumed and cheap dates arranged.

In the early hours of the morning Lucifer's lights went out and the boys in brown took control examining ID's and as is the norm in Tai Entertainment venues started taking the piss.

Several foreign patrons lit up the purple lights on the urine tests and several Thai patrons and staff couldn't show their ID cards or had ID cards that showed that at their ages they should be tucked up in bed (Alone) at this time of the night.

In addition Lucifer’s Discotheque seemed to be operating with an out of day license - Whoops!!  A report of the proceedings was sent to The Governor of Chonburi who may or more likely may not issue a closure order for this well known Walking Street entertainment venue.

Lions Club Pattaya Visit to Pattaya Remand Prison

Several chapters of the local Lions Club Organization went on a bar crawl with a difference this week. their aim was to spend some time behind bars. No not those type of bars although I am sure that more than a few have had more than a few in more than a few bars in Pattaya.

Their aim this day was to spend some time at Pattaya Remand Prison. They went well equipped to donate some items that should bring a little relief to the hundreds of inmates who are spending a little alone time waiting for their court cases to come up. They brought with them meals on wheels for some 300 female inmates and three fresh water dispensing machines which is certainly a cool idea during this hot season along with a couple of hundred books to take up a little time of those doing tedious time in this place of a thousand bars.

Central Center Pattaya Fire Drill

Fire alarms rang out out at The Central Centre part of the Central Festival Shopping Mall. It had been reported that a hot beautician had overheated and smoke was billowing from a beauty salon.

Staff responded admirably directing shoppers to the exits and assembling outside at of course the designated assembly points. The assembled shoppers and assembled staff then watched an assembly of fire fighters enter at tremendous risk to their lives to help the overheated beautician. But alass their was no hot lass needing their help. It was all part of an elaborate fire drill and public relations exercise.

Their was a loud round of applause as the fire drill was declared over and the assembled onlookers and assembled shop workers made their way back to spend more money in the Centre.

The fire drill was part of The Central Center Pattaya Exhibition of 2557 fire protection week and aimed to give confidence to the shoppers and according to one official to bring a warm glow to the shopkeepers - let's hope the warm glow doesn't get too warm.

Smelly Problem in Jomtien, Pattaya

It's now official Jomtien is officialy suffering from an excessive load of crap.

Khun Wirawat chaired a high level meeting at Pattaya City Hall to discuss what was going to be done to aleviate the situation that was affecting residents and business owners of Soi Watboon in Jomtien who say that they have a serious problem and that this problem simply stinks.

Khun Wirawat had invited officials from the organizations who were overseeing the construction of a new drainage and sewer system in Soi Watboon who had been reportedly turning up their noses to local citizens who had requested them to sniff out the problem.

The consultant in charge of the project that was being attended to by a joint consortium of construction companies said that he had taken on board the concerns and promised that these stinking comments would be passed on to those in charge and attended to without any risk of as he put it of "The shit hitting the fan"
