American Arrested for Murder of Girlfriend in Pattaya

On the 18th of March the body of a young lady, Khun Anusara, aged 19 was found murdered and dumped in a garbage bag on the roof of a restaurant on Walking Street. The girl had arranged to meet some friends on the street below her apartment near the restaurant. She was a no show but her boyfriend was seen scurrying out of the building and promptly disappeared.

Pattaya Police soon named a 48 year old American Mr. Steven Timothy Rowe as the main suspect and Pattaya Provincial Court issued an arrest warrant. Mr. Rowe was traced to The ECC Language school in Bangkok. He had recently resigned his job as a teacher and further inquirers suggested he had fled to Udon Thani in the North East of Thailand. He was finally spotted and arrested in Udon Thani whilst walking in an entertainment area of the city.

He has been returned to Pattaya along with the cut-up passport of Khun Anusara that was found in his possession. He apparently denies all charges and is being kept on suicide watch as Pattaya Police continue to bring a case against him that will no doubt see him brought before a Thai judge charged with first degree murder.
