Armed ATM Robbery Near Pattaya

A well organized daylight robbery was carried out outside a Tesco-Lotus Express Store in Nongkankok District near Pattaya. Chonburi Provincial Police, and Forensic experts rushed to the scene to start their investigations.

An armoured truck, operated by The Siam Administrative Management Company, who's job is to re-stock ATM’s around Thailand, pulled up outside of the convenience store

As the security guards carried two boxes carrying around 5 million Baht to the ATM a robber walked up to them brandishing a gun. Moments later a Toyota Pick up truck screached to a halt with the rest of the gang. Two men wearing balaclavas and also brandishing weapons forced the guards to hand over the money boxes. They were thrown into the bed of the truck and they drove off at high speed in the direction of Pattaya.

It took less than 5 minutes for the robbery to go down and most of it was caught on CCTV cameras.

It is thought that some members of the gang had been scoping out the site of the robbery for a while with the guise of being lottery sellers. The police now have plenty of evidence especially from the CCTV cameras which clearly shows the registration number of the pick-up used in the robbery.
