4 Year Old Pattaya Boy Accidentally Strangles Himself At South Pattaya Nursery School

Rescue workers and medics rushed to a South Pattaya Nursery School after reports came in asking for assistance for a 4 year old who was unconscious after accidentally strangling himself.

At the scene at Chaimongkol Temple Nursery School on South Pattaya Road they found the 4 year old boy still tangled in the straps of his fold up mattress cum backpack. He was unconscious and barely breathing. Medics did what they could as they immediately rushed him to the emergency room at Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

Police Colonel Suppatee the acting Superintendent of Pattaya police station and a team of his officers soon arrived on scene to investigate what had happened.

They talked to teachers and staff at the school. It seems that at the end of the day the children were assembled in the school cafeteria waiting for thei parents to pick them up. Normally the assembled kids would be supervised by teachers but a last minute call for the teachers to attend an urgent meeting meant that they were left alone for a brief period. Some of the kids had been picked up and then it was found that one boy was missing. He was soon found entangled in the straps of his backpack by another student who called on a teacher to help.

Further investigations are underway to get to the bottom of the reason why young children were left un-supervised.

Meanwhile 4 year old Khun Rapipat is currently in a coma and on a ventilator fighting for his life in Hospital.

Khun Surat the School of Manager of The Child Development Center at the Temple said that this was a major and troubling incident and regretted it very much. He said that everyone at the temple and the school is praying for the child's safe recovery and that the Abbot of Wat Chaimonkol temple will personally monitor the progress and of course all medical expenses will be taken care of by the Temple authorities.
