Naklua North Pattaya Canal Clearance

A multi million Baht budget has been allocated to upgrade the water drainage and sewerage systems. Last year the monsoon season caused umpteen motorists and motorcyclists marooned in knee deep water on multiple occasions.

Dr. Weerawat Khakhai The Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City along with officers of the Bureau of Sanitary Engineering of Pattaya city took a paddy field trip to survey dredging work on the Na Kluea canal in North Pattaya. The canal had been found to be clogged with sand, rocks, vegetation and other rubbish and was ordered to be cleared to provide a clear path for flood waters to drain efficiently.

It was also found that locals and local businesses had been encroaching on the canal digging foundations and constructing walls. These encroachments are being dealt with as the dredging continues.
