Fatal Pick-up Lorry Crash in Sriracha, Chonburi

Sriracha Police and Rescue Foundation Units rushed to the scene of a road accident involving a big lorry and a pick-up truck. At the scene on Sukhumvit Highway in Sriracha they found a 22 wheel articulated loaded with steel and at it's rear end a demolished Mitsubish Triton Pick-up truck.

The driver of the pick-up Khun Siwat aged 30 was trapped in his cab and had sustained serious injuries. Rescue workers using cutting equipment carefully removed him and transported him immediately to Leam Chabang Hospital. Unfortunately Khun Siwat died from his injuries shortly after his arrival at the emergency room.

The driver of the lorry Khun Phengjanthuk aged 34 who to his credit had not fled the scene explained to the police what had happened. The police collected evidence at the scene and asked Khun Phengjanthuk to accompany them to the police station for a full statement to be given.

The deceased Khun Siwat will now undergo a full post mortem before his body is released to relatives for funeral rites to be carried out.
