Turkish Tourist in Pattaya gets Fruity on Walking Street

There was no delight for a Turkish tourist when was attacked by street fruit vendor after they argued about the price being charged for some water melon.

The 32 year old young Turk Mr. Dinder Cetin presented himself to officers of the Tourist Police on Walking Street. He said that he had been attacked and slashed by a knife wielding fruit seller further down the street. He said that he had argued with the fruit vendor after he had purchased 2 pieces of water melon and gave him a 50 Baht note. It was only whilst walking away as one does down Walking Street he noticed that the vendor had given him only 20 Baht in change. 30 Baht for 2 slices of water melon - extortionate.

Officers rushed to the scene to catch the fruity felon before he attacked any more tourists. The fruit seller had not fled and admitted that he had charged 15 Baht per slice but said that the slices had come for a rather large melon. Apparently lots of rather large melons can be found on Walking Street - if you know where to look. The terrible Turk had come back demanding a refund but he had already nibbled on his piece of melon.

An argument broke out and the fruit seller felt threatened by the towering Turkish tourist so he picked up the knife to defend himself.

The police listened to both sides of the story. They asked the fruit seller to apologise for his fruit fuelled fury which he did. They told the tourist that they could only press charges if he went to hospital for treatment. The Turkish tourist shrugged his shoulders as Turkish folks are want to do. The tourist police strolled back to their posts nibbling on bags of fresh mango and pineapple.
