Pattaya Motorcycle Taxi Checkups

Officers from Pattaya City Council and Banglamung District officials went on a road trip this week. They were not planning to go far. They were just mounting an on site examination of the results of the recent purge to purge the city of illegal motorcycle taxi drivers.

The menagerie started in Naklua and wended their way to Pattaya Second Road. They found a variety of infractions including taxi stations not displaying signs as to the fares to different destinations. They also found that some of the taxi stands were taking on the role of petrol stations and selling bottled petrol. Now there was me thinking they were selling illicit whiskey.

Offenders were given warnings and face fines if they continue with the infractions. So far they have checked on 200 of the 945 registered taxi drivers in the areas they have checked. More riders to check and more areas to cover. Life is so busy for these poor overworked district officials.
