Cambodian Woman Killed by Lightening Strike in Chonburi

Baan Bung police and rescue workers rushed to a eucalyptus grove in Tambon Nong Irun Chonburi after reports that a lightening strike had injured some foreign workers.

At the scene they found a 32 year old Cambodian national Mrs Sim. she was declared dead at the scene and had scorch injuries indicative of being struck by lightening.

The 44 year old husband of the deceased had also received injuries from the lightening strike. His injuries were minor but he was taken to hospital in Baan Bung for treatment.

The 45 year old brother of the deceased Cambodian lady said that they were cutting eucalyptus in the heavy rain when thunder and lightening started. They rushed to anearby tent to take cover. His sister suddenly remembered the fish in a tank and rushed back to cover the tank when she was struck by the lightening.
