Chonburi Two Car Pile-up

Chonburi police and rescue units had a difficult task to sort out a major road traffic accident between two vehicles in the Donhuaroh district of Chonburi.

When they arrived on scene they found two crashed cars, a Honda Coupe and a Honda Accord. The rescue was complicated by the fact that one of the vehicles had slammed into a post and downed some live power lines. These cables had to be pulled away before rescuers could start to give assistance to the trapped passengers.

The driver of the Honda Coupe and his wife were trapped in the vehicle and rescue workers had to use cutting equipment to free them from the wreckage. The driver of the other vehicle was also injured. They were all given first aid at the scene by medics and then transported to hospital for further emergency treatment.

The driver of the Honda Coupe said that he was returning from Bangkok and when he got to a bend by the temple the car in front braked hard to negotiate the curve. He applied his brakes but unfortunately slammed into the rear of the Honda Accord in front.
