Russian Motorcyclist killed in Accident in Na Jomtien Pattaya

In the early hours of the morning Na Jomtien police and a rescue unit from The Sawang Rojana Foundation were called to attend a road accident in Na Jomtien near The Ambassador City Hotel.

They arrived on scene at the 155Km marker on the Pattaya Bound carriageway of Sukhumvit Highway to find a Yamaha Nouvo motorcycle that had massive front damage and the lifeless body of a foreigner laying in the grass. The deceased motorcyclist had sustained massive injuries including a broken neck. He was later identified as a Mr. Andrey Bogdanov aged 30 of Russian Nationality. Near the motorcycle was a light pole that had damage and appeared to be what stopped the motorcycle.

Enquiries at The Ambassador City Hotel gave the police more information. A receptioist at the hotel Khun Nopadon told the police that Mr. Bogdanov had rented a room at the hotel recently and had also rented a motorcycle from a bike rental shop nearby.

The body of Mr. Bogdanov was transported to The Queen Sirikit Hospital in Sattahip for a full post mortem to be carried out. Meanwhile as is the custom the Russian Embassy in Bangkok has been notified of the death of one of it's citizens.
