Khun Phawat The Sherrif of Sattahip along with the headman of a village in Na Jomtien announced the arrest of a drug dealer along with the seizure of a quantity of class 1 narcotics.
Enforcement officers from the Sattahip drugs enforcement division effected the arrest of a Khun Kampol aged 49 and the seizure of 93 Yaa Baa (Methamphetamine) tablets.
The officers had moved in to make the arrest as Khun Kampol got out of his Nissan pick-up truck. He tried to escape into a nearby cassava field but was apprehended. The officers searched him and found the Yaa Baa tablets in his trousers pocket.
Khun Kampol confessed to possessing the drugs and said that he had bought the tablets for 10,000 Baht from another dealer. He said that he had been addicted to drugs for 28 years and needed to take 5-10 tablets a day to fuel his habit. and needed to buy large quantities to sell on to finance his drug needs.
