Police Major General Katcha the Chonburi Provincial Police Commander announced the capture of two members of the gang that robbed an ATM machine on Sukhumvit Road last week. Major General Katcha led a team of senior Pattaya police officers who staged a video taped re-construction of the crime starring the mastermind of the crime Khun Atit aged 33. Khun Atit took them step by step through the happenings that night which netted the gang just around million Baht.
He said that they had parked close to the ATM machine. They had not moved the CCTV camera which the police later found pointing skyward. He then used gas cutting equipment to gain entry through the rear metal casing of the stand alone ATM. The process took about 30 minutes and then they drove off to split the proceeds.
Police said that they have arrested a 17 year youth at his home in Phichit Province and are actively searching for another individual called Khun Bunkert aged 23 and expect to make an arrest pretty soon as they know the area that he is hiding out.
