Pattaya Labour Day Jams

It was good to see that Thai folks turned out in force to celebrate my birthday on May the First. They called it Labour Day which is rather strange as most people took the day off and little labour was done.

Bangkokians descended on Pattaya for a great day out by the beach. Most folks managed to park their cars and claimed their pogs on beach road by early afternoon. By late afternoon the mass migration back to the metropolis began and it was time to roll up the straw mats, ditch the empty beer bottles and plastic plates of som tam and join the ques of traffic exiting the city.

Those with a modicum of local knowledge were aware of the traffic jams and knew where the short cuts were and formed their own traffic jams.

I avoided the jams and celebrated my birthday with a bottle of Johnny Black by the pool.
