Nongprue Pattaya Drinking Water Quality Conference

At Nongprue Municipal Offices a conference was held to discuss the Annual Drinking Water Quality Campaign 2557. The conference was attended by Municipal officers including Khun Thirawit the Nongprue Municipal Secretary, Community Leaders, business and entrepreneurs involve in the water production and water distribution sector.

Khun Mai The Mayor of Nongprue opened the conference and gave a speech expressing his concerns about the current situation with regard to the options available for consumers who expect clean and potable water for their family's daily needs. This was followed by Khun Saranya who gave the attendees a lecture about The Safe Drinking Water Act and the rules and regulations aimed to prevent contamination of water supplies.

People would like to have clean safe water piped to their homes as happens elsewhere in the world. This is not going to happen anytime soon. Thais depend on water vending machines that dispense clean drinking water into containers that can be taken home.

There are serious concerns that if the filters on these water vending machines are not cleaned regularly then microorganisms such as e-coli bacteria can build up that is a clear and present health hazard. Attendees then took a break to enjoy a meal together no doubt accompanied by a sparkling glass of water.
