Drunk Driver Causes Mayhem in Nongprue East Pattaya

In the early hours of the morning Nongprue police were alerted to an incident in Soi Khao Talo, East Pattaya where the driver of a pick-up truck was running amok. The pick-up had already crashed into the wall of a house in Moo Baan Ravipon in Soi 13 and then driven off at high speed. Then in Soi 10 he lost control again and crashed into a motorcyclist before embedding the truck into another house.

At the scene police and rescue workers found the results of the mayhem that had ensued. The motorcycle rider Khun Sukhasan aged 30 was in a bad state. Unconscious, bleeding heavily with suspected broken legs. He was immediately rushed to Banglamung Hospital by a Unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation.

A large crowd had gathered and detained the driver of the Nissan pick-up truck. Police moved in quickly as the mob were not being gentle in the way they handled the obviously intoxicated driver.

Khun Samrong aged 45 was taken into custody immediately, for his own safety and taken to Nongprue Police station where he faces serious charges depending on whether the motorcyclist pulls through or not.
