LPG Car Fire in Chonburi

Fire fighters were called to attend an LPG fuelled vehicle blaze on Sukhumvit Road in Samet District Chonburi. At the scene they found a Toyota sedan with the engine compartment on fire. They used fire hoses to contain the blaze so that the fire would not engulf the entire vehicle. The area was cordoned off just in case there was an explosion and a traffic jam stretching 2 Km soon built up. The fire was soon doused and the LPG turned off.

The owner of the car Khun Sumet from Donhuaroh District said that he was returning home after a trip to the jetty to buy seafood with his family in the car when he noticed sparks coming from underneath the bonnet. He managed to pull over and get himself and the other four members of the family out of the vehicle before flames erupted.

He had no idea how the fire started. He had been running the car on LPG for along time on LPG to save money - now it seams those savings had literally gone up in flames.
