Two Indian Tourists Robbed in Pattaya

In the early hours of the 7th of October Police Captain Chaliaw an investigating police officer at Pattaya police station listened to a sorry story from an irate Indian tourist who had made his own way to the police station to report a robbery on Beach Road.

Mr. Karthikeyan Krishnan aged 37 told the police officer that he was walking along Beach Road with a friend near Soi 13 when much to their surprise they were solicited by a Thai woman offering sexual services. A price of 1,000 Baht was agreed on He did not elaborate whether this was per person or for a group booking. She then said that a car would take them to their hotel as part of the service. She made a call and soon after a Black car pulled up and two Thai men asked them to get into the car.

As soon as they were in the car it drove off and the Thai men threatened them with some kind of pointy weapon and relieved them of their wallets, State Bank of India credit card, passports and travel tickets and cash. One man had 600US$ the other 400US$ total taken 1,000US$

The car drove around for a while somewhere on Pattaya Second road and then he was kicked out of the car which then drove off with his friend still inside.

As he was giving his report his friend Mr. Khader Basha aged 40 turned up at the police station with a mud splattered shirt. He said that the kidnappers had thrown him out of the car somewhere on Sukhumvit Road and had wandered around for about 15 minutes before asking some locals and making his way to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital and then on to the police station.

Police took the poor, now poorer Indian tourists tale as evidence and said they would take a look at the CCTV Cameras on Beach Road to see if they could identify the robbery gang and vehicle that was involved and would prosecute them with the full force of Thai law.

The Indian tourists left the police Station clutching the police report that will be needed so that they can make an insurance claim when they get home.

A little tip for The Pattaya Police. They should position a CCTV camera on Beach Road pointing skywards and have an officer constantly monitoring the footage. Then as soon as they see a pig flying over Pattaya Bay they can send a task force out there to stop a crime from even happening.
