Russian Motorcycle Death in Pattaya

At 1.30am on the 16th of December Police Lieutenant Nakhonrat of the Pattaya Police was informed of a serious motorcycle accident on Sukhumvit Road. He went immediately to the scene along with a unit of the Sawangboribul Tharmmasatharn foundation to provide assistance.

At the scene near the Shell petrol station in North Pattaya he found the body of a foreigner laying in the road who had suffered major traumatic injuries including a fractured skull and a severed left foot and was thought to have died instantly in the crash. About 120 metres down the road was a wrecked Yamaha R-6 600cc Motorbike with severe damage to the front end.

In the deceased pocket they found a rental agreement for a Russian national Mr. Chered Nichenko aged 26 and the address of the company where he had hired the bike from.

There were no witnesses to the accident but from the position of the rider, his wrecked motorcycle and damage to the metal barriers it appears that Mr. Chered Nichenk had come from North Pattaya Road and reached a high speed when he lost control and hit the steel barrier at the side of the road.

The body of the deceased was transported to Banglamung Hospital for an autopsy to be carried out and the Russian Embassy notified about the death of one of it's citizens.
