At 5 pm on the 5th of December a large crowd gathered in front of the Royal Garden Plaza shopping center on Pattaya Beach Road to show their loyalty to His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the occasion of his 86th birthday.
The crowd consisted of a wide range of Pattaya citizens, Pattaya business owners, Pattaya Municipality Administrators, Pattaya police officers, community representatives and to record the events a large contingent of media from the press, TV and radio. Also recording the event were many foreign tourists who may have been none so happy that they could not buy a beer or visit any of the famous entertainment venues that they had travelled thousands of miles to see. But what they could take home were unique pictures of the Thai people paying homage to their beloved monarch.
The crowd then wended their way down Beach Road. Neon free and alcohol free Walking Street to Bali Hai pier in South Pattaya where a formal ceremony led by the mayor of Pattaya Khun Itthipol took place.
