Leam Chabang Motorcyclist Fatality

Police Leutenant Pichet of the Leam Chabang Police received a report of a fatal accident involving a motorcycle and an articulated lorry on The Suckhumvit Highway. He went immediately to the scene along with a rescue unit from the Sawang Prathip Rescue Foundation to provide assistance.

At the scene on the Bangkok bound carriageway of Sukhumvit Road He found the body of a Khun Chawalit aged 44 and his wrecked Honda motorcycle. Nearby was an 18 wheel Isuzu articulated lorry and it's driver Khun Suan.

The driver said that he had parked up at the side of the highway at 4am as the place he was to collect a load from was still closed. He took a nap and woke up at 5.30am and was moving his lorry to go into the site when a motorcyclist alerted him to the fact that an accident had occurred at the back of his vehicle.

The body of Khun Chawalit was taken to Leam Chabang Hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out. Meanwhile the police are continuing their investigations as to how the accident occurred and if there is any blame to be allocated towards the driver of the articulated truck.
