On the 1st of Augist Police Colonel Suwan and Police Lieutenant Colonel Phumisit of the Pattaya police received a tip off from undercover agents about foreigners illegally selling drugs in Pattaya.
A Police Lieutenant Surachoke was sent to investigate further into this matter. He found out that an American a Mr David Penner aged 36 was the alleged drug dealer. A plan was then hatched to use another foreigner as an undercover agent to make a drugs buy from the American drugs dealer.
The drugs dealer was contacted and a meet arranged outside an apartment building on Soi Hollywood, South Pattaya. At the arranged time in Soi Hollywoood Officials lay in wait and as scheduled the foreign drug dealer Mr. Penner turned up on a motorcycle. He matched the description given by the undercover agents and the authorities moved in to make an arrest.
They searched Mr. Penner and found a bag of Yaa Ice (Methamphetamine) hidden in a Clorets candy wrapper that weighed 0.45 grammes. In his motorcycle they found more bags containing drugs two bags weighing 0.41 two weighing 0.46 and two weighing 0.87 grammes.
The Police then went to his room at the Allview Apartments on soi Limbanrung, South Pattaya and proceeded to make a thorough search. In a drawer in the room they found more bags of Yaa Ice weighing 0.51, 0.55 and 1.06 grammes.
The Police arrested Mr. Penner and took him away to Pattaya Police Station for further interrogations to find out if the drugs found were the whole haul or whether other drugs remained hidden. Also from whom he was buying the drugs and who were the foreign customers he was selling to. The drugs were taken into evidence as well as statements from all concerned and now wait for legal proceedings to take their course.
