Truck Motorcycle Fatal Crash Near Pattaya

On the 21st of August Police Major Sukit of the Highway Police received a report of a serious fatal accident involving a motorcycle and an 18 wheel truck.

At the scene of the accident on Highway 7 Major Sukit came across the wreckage of a Kawasaki motorcycle and an 18 wheel articulated lorry blocking the highway. 10 meters away was the body of the motorcycle rider a Mr Santi aged 35 who had suffered massive injuries to his legs neck and head. The lorry driver was nowhere to be found and appeared to have fled the scene of the accident.

Witnesses to the accident told the police that at this section of the road traffic normally slows down on the approach to a bridge section. The lorry approached at high speed and did not appear to slow down in time and crashed into the slower moving motorcycle.

The body of the deceased motorcycle was recovered and taken to the local hospital for an autopsy to be carried out. The police meanwhile concentrated on the lorry and started an intensive examination of the truck and search for the lorry driver to see what further legal proceedings should be instigated.
