The sports stadium at Nongprue district was the venue for the latest Toyota Thailand Football Premier League match between the local footbal team Pattaya United also known as the Blue and white dolphins and Chonburi Sharks FC. A derby match involving two local teams in the league. The teams have already met earlier in the season when Pattaya United lost 1-5 to the Chonburi Sharks when the game was played at the Sharks home ground Chonburi stadium.
The game was an exciting affair with goals being traded throughout the match and resulted with a full time score of 3-3 and a nail biting last few minutes of injury time until Pattaya United managed to kick one final ball past the Chonburi Sharks goalkeeper to clinch the game and bring the nervous local partisan Blue and White Dolphin crowd to their feet in rapturous applause.
