Chinese Crew Member Dies After Accident in Gulf of Thailand

Laem Chabang Police and a Unit of The Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to a jetty in Tungsukla District of Sriracha to give assistance to a Chinese crew member who had sustained a serious injury on a ship at sea in the Gulf of Thailand.

Fellow crew members had transported their fellow crew member to the jetty after radioing ahead for help. Medics at the scene checked Mr. Sun Yong aged 28 years old. He had sustained a major head trauma but could find no pulse and he was declared dead by doctors from Laem Chabang Hospital who had also arrived on scene.

His friends said that Mr. Sun Yong had been doing routine inspection work when he slipped and fell into the bilge of the ship. The deceased was transported to hospital for a full autopsy to be carried out before his body can be released for funeral rites to be carried out.
