Mayhem in Bangsean as two rival gangs of out of control Thai youths wreaked havoc at this popular beach resort which is a favourite for Thai families looking for a day out by the sea.

After receiving reports of a shooting police rushed to the scene of the shooting at Bangsaen Rd.,Soi 10 in Saen Suk District. When they arrived the 17 year old victim had already been transported to hospital leaving only a pool of blood to indicate the location. Unfortunately he died in hospital.

Whilst the police were collecting evidence at the shooting scene reports of a bombs going off at a the nearby KSI Dormitory caused them to drop everything and move to the next location.

At the second scene someone had tossed a hand grenade in to the dormitory. They found a Khun Somneuk aged who had sustained shrapnel wounds to his torso and legs and was bleeding profusely. He was rushed to Burapha Hospital by a rescue foundation unit.

There were other gunshot victims - a 16 year old boy shot in the head and a 35 year old lady wounded in the shoulder. From witness statements it appears that about twenty gang members on motorcycles had conducted a running battle culminating in the tossing of grenades at the dormitory.
