14 Year Old Pattaya Motorcyclist Mugged

At 5.30 pm on the 24th of November Police Colonel Somnuek of the Nongprue police was called to the scene of a street robbery where a young girl driving a motorcycle had been robbed.

At the scene near the Thipnamee Cable TV service centre by the railway tracks in East Pattaya they found a Miss Kanchana a 14 year old student and also the robber Mr. Surasak aged 32 from Chiang Mai.

It appears that Mr Surasak had pulled up alongside the girl and grabbed her handbag then rode off. She gave chase and shouted to other motorists for help. Citizens soon caught up with the robber, overwhelmed him and detained him pending the arrival of the authorities.

Mr. Surasak said that he had fallen on rough times and decided to commit the robbery to get money for food. The girl's bag  contained only 70 Baht and some make-up. I am sure the police will give him some free food as he waits to be prosecuted for the attempted theft.

There was no word if the 14 year old girl faces any charges for driving a motorcycle without a license and whilst underage.
