At the sports stadium of the Pattaya Redemptorist Vocational School the Deputy Mayor of Pattaya City Presided at the opening event in the Pattaya Disabled Games and sporting events which is held annually.
The aim of the games is to encourage the disabled students to participate in sports of all kinds and help them to develop physically and mentally.
At this event held over two days, the 19th and 20th of July participants are classified according to their disability into four colours red, green, blue and yellow and will take part in many types of events such as wheelchair basketball, volleyball and soccer along with swimming and various track and field events.
These games held in Pattaya will also help in the preparation of athletes and teams who will be representing Thailand at the 7th ASEAN Para Games sports competition to be held in Myanmar in January next year.
