Major Issan Drug Dealer Aprehended by Chonburi Police

At 11:30 am on July 13, Maj. Gen. Kacha, Police Colonel Suwan, Colonel Phumisit, Colonel  Pichet  and police investigators. Jointly announced the arrest of a major drug dealer Mr. Suphon Phaluk aged 36.

They also confiscated a Black Toyota Vigo pick up truck, ATM cards, mobile phones and an automatic weapons.

Major General Kacha revealed that the operation started when they had arrested a Mr Ahthit aged 26 with 0.49 grammes of Ya Ice in his possession that he said he had bought from a miss WanRudii aged 45. Police then arrested Miss WanRudi with 0.35 grammes of Ya Ice as she was walking home in soi yaylao. Miss WanRudi confessed to having purchased the Ya Ice from a drugs supplier from The North east Mr Suphon.

Police and officials then set up a sting operation to lure the drug dealer to a PTT petrol station opposite The Isuzu Dealership on The Freindship Highway in Ban Mung district of Udon Thani in Isaan. When Mr Suphon arrived in the Pick Up to make the drugs delivery the police swooped in and made the arrest. Subsequently they raided a rented house in  Baan Luam in NongBuaLamphu Province where they found a hidden stash of over 4 kilos of Yaa Ice woth over 12 Million Baht.

Mt Suphon admiited to buying the drugs from a Laos National a Mr Mok who two years ago had been arrested and charged with possession of explosives. Mr Mok would deliver the drugs to the banks of the Mekhong river where they were transported over to Thailand to be sold.

The authorities intend to extend their operations in the border areas between Thailand and Laos in an attemt to eradicate these drug problems.
