Chonburi Police Officers from Donhuaroh police station and rescue units rushed to the scene of a serious road traffic accident Suhkprayuun Road in Ampher Phanatnikhom. At the scene they found a Honda motorcycle that had crashed at high speed into a pick-up truck.
The rider of the motorcycle Khun Jakratrit aged 19 had sustained massive head and facial injuries in the crash and despite the efforts of medics to give CPR he died shortly after. Also on scene was Khun Buaphit the 40 year old mother of the deceased who was obviously in a distraught state.
The driver of the Nissan Pick-up Khun Pichit aged 45 said that he was driving to his home in Nongthamsung District and was making a u-turn when the crash occurred. The police detained Khun Pichet subject to further investigations at the accident scene.
The body of Khun Jakratrit was taken to hospital for a full post mortem to be carried out.
