Chonburi Father Son Murderers Arrested

Police Major General Tanaet, the Acting Commander of The Region 2 Police force led a press conference at Chonburi Provincial Police Headquarters to announce the arrest of the suspects involved in the murder of two people at a restaurant in Chonburi on the 3rd of November.

The two suspects were a 50 year old man and his 16 year old Son. The father was named as a Khun Sontaya for legal reasons his young son was not named in public and the boy was not present at the press conference. Khun Sontaya had previously worked at the restaurant but had been fired from his job about a month before.

The pair were alleged to have murdered Khun Nittipon aged 47 and his wife Khun Bejamart aged 46 at the Monkey Seafood Restaurant in the Angsira area close to Chonburi City in an attempted robbery that went horribly wrong.

The suspects had confessed to the charges and described how the incident had gone down. They had entered the premises at 3am and made enough noise to rouse the sleeping occupants. A fight broke out and they beat the husband and wife to death with wooden sticks a hammer and other weapons that they had brought to the scene.. They then rifled the property and made their escape with a considerable haul including: 2 mobile phones, 10 wrist watches, 160,000 Baht in cash and, 39 cigarette lighters and a rice cooker.

Police recovered most of the stolen goods along with a stash of weapons used in the robbery and murder including: steel pipes, batons and a hammer and a wooden stick.

As well as confessing the pair have expressed their remorse in causing the deaths and apologised to the relatives of Khun Nittipon aged and his wife Khun Bejamart.
