Phoenix Golf and Country Club Pattaya Dupes Members

A group of 30 golfers mainly farangs have filed an official complaint at The Huay Yai police station against the owners of Phoenix Golf & Country Club.

The golfers mostly elderly long term residents of Pattaya are reported to be very teed off with the new owners of the Pattaya golf course after they refused to honour their existing golf course memberships and demanded that they fork out 200,000 Baht for new lifetime memberships otherwise they will be turned away and not allowed to play there anymore.

Phoenix Golf Course members commented that they thought that this is not a fair way to do business and they are prepared to bunker down until they get justice in this matter. It is thought that around 1,000 members are affected. 300 have so far come forward to sign the complaint. The police are looking into the matter and sending officers to visit other members who have been effectively duped by the new company running the golf club.
