Jomtien Pattaya Loy Krathong Paralytic Pistol Packer

The Loy Krathong Festival in Pattaya drew crowds of Farangs and Thais, some local some from further afield The traditional ceremony of pushing out the Krathongs into the waves was soon over so the crowds turned to more Thai traditional methods of celebrating - drinking copious amounts of alcoholic beverages.

A group of teenagers from Nong Plalai in East Pattaya sety up camp on Jomtien Beach opposite The Villa Navin Hotel and got down to some serious drinking. They even brought along their own packed lunch. Except it wasn't just sticky rice they had packed they had also come packing a firearm and were happy to wave it around to show off how hard they were to locals and tourists alike.

The boys in brown soon got wind of the paralytic pistol packer and an armed swat team son surrounded the sozzled Somchais. The pistol packer was not however called Somchai it was a Khun Borwornsak Boonkhum aged 24 who soon led the police officers to the spot on the beach that he had buried his .38 calibre weapon.

Khun Borwornsak was charged with having a firearm and six rounds of ammunition in a public place and was allowed to continue his Loy Krathong celebrations in a police cell.
