Drugging and mugging is still a popular sport for the theiving classes in Pattaya. Pattaya Police and a unit of the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation were called to give assistance to a foreigner who appears to have been yet another victim of a drugging.
At the scene at The Jasmin Villa Hotel, Soi Buakaew they found a German national Mr Kolberg Laszlo aged 21 who was lying on the bed with some friends taking care of him. Mr. Laszlo was well woozy and medics needed to give him some first aid to enable some coherent conversation to take place.
He told the police that two Thai ladies who were staying in an adjacent room had befriended him and offered to give him a massage. He accepted and they came round and brought him a soft drink. He downed the offering and they got down to business. Sadly there was to be no happy ending to this story. They relieved the doped and dozing Deautchlander of his mobile phone and 10,000 Baht.
He awoke a while later and called to some friends in the next room. He checked out his room and found he had been robbed. Meanwhile the two ladies had also checked out - from the hotel. Enquiries at reception turned up some names and copies of ID cards along with CCTV images of the mock masseuses.
