Pattaya Sawang Boriboon Rescue Volunteer Murderer Surrenders

Police Colonel Supatee, the Acting Superintendent of Pattaya Police held a press conference at Pattaya Police Station to announce the arrest of the murderer who gunned down a Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation Volunteer at Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya on the 18th of June.

The gunman Khun Boonsong a cousin of Khun Wijan aged 40 the man he killed surrendered himself at Pattaya Police Station after it became evident that Police would not stop in their efforts to apprehend him. He had fled to Bangkok and then traveled on to a friend's house in Nakhon Sawan north of Bangkok.

Khun Boonsong told the police he went to confront Khun Wijan when he found out that Khun Wijan had had an affair with his wife while he was recently in prison. On the day of the incident he drove his motorcycle to the pier and feining a heart problem reached into his shirt, pulled out a 9mm handgun and shot Khun Wijan six times. On his way to Bangkok he dumped the murder weapon in a river.

The police accepted his account of the murder and although this was an intentional killing they took into account that he had voluntarily surrendered to the police and confessed in full. The police allowed him to post 500,000 Baht bail to be released until the case comes to court.
