Sunday night saw clear skies and cool temperatures. A perfect evening that the fair weather helped to encourage record crowds to converge on Bali Hai Pier in South Pattaya where the mayor of Pattaya Khun Itthipol presided over this years Loy Krathong activities.
It is difficult to assess what was the main attraction for the crowds. Pushing out the krathongs into the bay, lanterns and fireworks maybe. The chance to cast eyes on our noble mayor perhaps. For most the highlight were the beaury contests. Miss Loy Krathong and Miss Junior Krathong Competitions.
20 contestants competed for the 50,000 Baht worth of scholarships on offer and other prizes and of course the sashes and trophies oh and a chance to meet the mayor.
