Pattaya School Boy Thieves Rob Russians in Jomtien

Pattaya Police responded swiftly after receiving a report of a bag snatching incident in Jomtien. They rushed to the scene to find a Russian tourist Miss Kristina Mokina, aged 26 and her Russian boyfriend.

They had ben walking along Soi Wat Boon towards Jomtien Beach when a Honda Wave motorcycle with two Thai youths pulled up alongside snatched the ladies handbag and rode off towards Jomtien Second Road. The bag contained about 2,900 Baht and a mobile phone.

The officers immediately sent out a radio alert to other police units in the area. The suspects were soon spotted and a pursuit ensued. The thieves crashed the motorcycle near Jomtien Beach Condo Building A. They ran off into the woods nearby.

Around 30 Police officers and police volunteers joined in the search for the fleeing suspects. After about an hour one youth was apprehended and the other was able to give the police the slip.

The police found that the thief they had caught was only 15 years old. He soon gave up the name of his mate another 15 year old schoolboy from Pattaya School number 9. The boy who cannot be named as he is a juvenile told police that he got the idea to do the robbery from older kids at the same school who had committed similar thefts.

He needed to pay the money for football training as he was already 500 Baht in arrears for the past few months that he had not paid for. He was detained at the police station and charged with his theft. Meanwhile his parents have been informed of his whereabouts and his mate will soon be brought in to keep him company.
