The Buddhism Office Coordinator for the Nongprue police received complaints of the conduct of a group of monks who were spotted in the Khao Talo area operating in an unorthodox manner. Nongprue police went to the area and found three Cambodian monks begging for money and food.
Buddhist monks walking the streets early in the morning is a normal sight. Members of the public wait around dawn to give alms to the monks and receive a blessing in return.
Begging willy nilly is a complete no no.
The monks were taken to Wat Sutawat where the abbot gave them a dressing down - literally disrobing the monks for their inappropriate behaviour.
Whilst inspecting the monks passports it was found that their entry visa had expired and they were technically on overstay. After a stern talking to by the abbot the monks were taken to Jomtien Immigration office for processing prior to their deportation back to Cambodia.
